Places To Go
by Owen
, ,

simplejonny says: Owen is Mike Kinsella, formerly of American Football and Cap n Jazz. Owen sees Kinsella move away from electric and into the realm of acoustic guitar. Saccharine vocals that somehow also portray a world weariness, lay over simple but beautiful guitar lines in this song to create an overall vibe that is best described as comfortable. The lyrical subject matter is fairly standard, yet Kinsella's approach feels fresh and his writing feels quite unique in its own right, especially when paired with the vocals. This song is from Owen's first album. Two more albums and an EP have followed, but this song is definitely a standout from the entire ouvre.
