Straight Outta Compton
by Nina Gordon

Comrade Chimp says: This is one of those cover versions where it takes you a good minute to convince yourself you're really hearing what you appear to be hearing; acoustic pop-folkstress Nina Gordon bragging about her sawn-off and how she's down for jack moves. There's something akin to Nouvelle Vague's loungecore covers of new wave classics in this, although this is a whole lot weirder angle on the source material.
