alien protocol says:Singer/Songwriter/Producer Walter Schreifels' rock resume is packed with experience as the driving force in some very notable bands. He began his genre-defining and genre-bending career by moonlighting in seminal hardcore acts like Gorilla Biscuits and Youth of Today, and later moved on to form Quicksand, that huge post-hardcore band that inspired legions of guitar playing kids to adopt an angular and detuned sound. After Quicksand blew apart, Schreifels focused his energies on the band Rival Schools, and his sound began to get more melodic. Sadly, this band didn't last very long... but lucky for us, Schreifels is back with Walking Concert, a band that builds upon his experience in Rival Schools. This is guitar driven rock that shows off Schreifels' unique vocal warbles and melodies, and yes, there are some way killer hooks in this music. Download "What's Your New Thing" and get a taste of Schreifels' newest thing... you'll be glad you did.
