A Pillar of Salt
by The Thermals
, ,

alien protocol says: "A Pillar of Salt" is off of the new album from The Thermals titled The Body, The Blood, The Machine. The Portland, OR band took quite an intense approach to this new record, and the end product is a wider, brighter, and wilder sound for the band. The subject matter is also quite timely and indicative of how divisive "American society" has become... the lyrics to all the songs form a story that envisions a United States governed by a fascist Christian state, and focus on the need (and means) to escape.
