Tribute To Max Roach
by Democracy Now!
,

Din says: Amy Goodman reports on the funeral of legendary drummer, educator and activist Max Roach, who died on August 16 at the age of 83. Maya Angelou, Amiri Baraka, Bill Cosby, Sonia Sanchez and others eulogize the great jazz musician, who inspired generations of artists of every kind, and re-invented the drum set as an instrument. I also recommend this excellent blog post about Max Roach's music, complete with mp3 excerpts from key records in his long career.
