Subverse says: When I heard Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings' first album Dap Dippin', I thought it was another raw-ass-super-heavy-funk re-issue from Soul Fire Records. I was blown away to find out they were a modern funk band! This is grimy and heavy James Brown meets Eddie Bo meets Carla Thomas music that moves the crowd into a heated state of soul-funk-ecstasy baby!
