Delta City Blues
by Michael Brecker
, , heavy metal bebop

Band Geek says: Michael Brecker was probably one of the most influential saxophone players outside of Charlie Parker and John Coltrane. He was a highly regarded jazz player who got called upon to play with great non-jazz popular artists and groups in the 70s such as Parliament-Funkadelic and Joni Mitchell, and he always delivered the most slick solo chops to anything he touched. For you guitar geeks, Brecker was like the Steve Morse or Joe Satriani of the tenor saxophone. Here’s another fine offering from the You Are What You Hear live jazz blog: Brecker totally solo. Give it a spin!
